The Department of Popular Music educates musicians, composers, music technologists, musicologists and music educators. The department covers the entire field of popular music, and seeks to maintain a wide range of genres and diverse musical creativities. We offer studies in popular music performance at bachelor, master's and doctoral level, and also have a teacher education in popular music.
We are Norway's largest academic community in popular music, and we are proud to be one of UiA's two signature studies. We have a strong focus on artistic performance, and great facilities on Campus Kristiansand, including two top equipped studios, a dedicated room with 3D sound system and well equipped rehearsal rooms and band rooms.
