Maurizio Picheca
A variety of lectures gives a diverse picture of the EU integration process
Why this programme: During my studies I had two internships in Brussels. The first internship was in the European Parliament, while the second internship was in the European Commission dealing with the enlargement of the European Union. After the internship in the Commission I worked for the same service for six months. These experiences within the EU institutions raised my interest for studying in-depth EU integration issues at the EISS.
The actual length of the EISS programme is convincing. The 7-week EISS programme ensures in-depth studies.
About the program: It has a variety of lectures which gives a diverse picture of the EU integration process. Also, I like the two-way communication in class. There is a lot of debate. The teachers have different nationalities and backgrounds and give updated information and testimonials, which enrich the debate.
About UiA: I am impressed by the UiA campus and its facilities, in particular the library, as well as the closeness to nature.
Job opportunities: After the summer school I will return to Brussels to work within the services of the European Commission.
