Student obligations
Obligation to acquire information
The students have an obligation to keep themselves informed regarding regulations in the Universities and University Colleges Act, the examination regulations of Agder University College , and Instructions for examination candidates as well as study programme and subject plans, special regulations pertaining to their study programmes and relevant deadlines. For an overview of relevant laws and regulations, see the information under examinations or laws and regualtions.
The same pertains to messages from the university college on the website and via Fronter. Messages which are given in this way are to be considered as though they were given to each student individually. Messages will be sent to the students' email addresses. Such messages go to the students' email addresses, not to private email addresses. See the section on sources of information under Practical Information.
Conditions for study progression. Mandatory attendance.
In some study programmes, conditions exist in order to progress through the study programme or to sign up for examinations. This information will be included in the study programme descriptions or the course descriptions. Generally, it is assumed that students usually take courses in the sequence that is stipulated in the study or subject plan even when this is not stipulated in the individual course description.
Attendance of lectures is not usually mandatory. In many professional programmes and in certain other study programmes, however, there is a requirement of mandatory participation in parts of the instruction. The requirement of mandatory attendance in lectures or other forms of mandatory participation is stipulated in the study programme or course description.
Conduct evaluation
Conduct evaluation requirements exist for teacher education. Conduct evaluations will include both students who are admitted in fall 2006 and students who are already enrolled in the education programmes. More detailed information will be given at the start of the semester. The Ministry of Education is working on a draft of evaluation of conduct for health and social subjects, but it is not certain when this will go into effect. At Agder University College this will most likely affect nursing, disability nursing and social work.
