Calendar of Adat activities
1. October (in Bahasa Lio: Mapa More)T
he adat activity is Ka Uwi. This activity to forecast whether the harvest will be good or fail. That will be shown by cook of Ubi (cassava). If it well done means the harvest will be success. If it is not, then harvest in that year will be fail.
2. November
The adat activity is Loa Telo. It is to forecast whether it will be rain or strong wind.
3. December ( Nduru)
The adat activity is: Kula Kea and Paki Ghai.
4. February ( Beke Loo)
The adat activity is: Loka Lolo. Adat leader will sow seed of solor corn .
5. March ( Fowo)
The adat activity is: Lea Loo.
6. April ( Balu Ree)
The adat activity is: Lea Ria. In this activity certain adat leaders will taste the corn and grateful to God because the plant didn’t broken by insect.
7. May ( Balu Jie)
The adat activity is: Wangga Jawa. In this activity people can start to cut the corn.
8. June ( Base)
The adat activity is: Loka Lolo. In this adat activity, the musalaki will sow the solor corn while other men conduct tight fighting, in order to be allowed for cutting the solor corn.
9. July ( Mala)
The adat activity is: Joka Ju. In this adat activity they conduct a grateful ceremony of the good harvest. This grateful activity will be held for 4 days and 4 nights.
