CA competition
The International Case Competition on Strategic Value of IT Management is a global case competition that brings together business and Information Technology (IT) to demonstrate and evaluate the Strategic Value of IT Management for an organization.
| The competition is sponsored by US-based CA (formerly Computer Associates) which is one of the world's leading independent IT management software companies |
|
See the Case Competition website and their group on Facebook
| The competition is being held in two stages. The first stage consists of regional competitions in 12 regions of the world. The coordinator for Region 6 (Northern and Western Europe) is Professor Maung Sein of UiA. In the “UiA regional”, 4 teams from United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark and Norway will compete. The winning team from each of the twelve regions (some 40 to 50 teams) is invited to the finale in Las Vegas in May 2010. Each team will consist of 3 students at the master’s level and a faculty advisor.
|
The teams are presented with a real case problem to solve, typically providing a strategic Business and Information Systems solution for the given case, which requires knowledge of both Business Strategy and implementation of Information Systems.
Judges for the competition will come from both industry and academia. For the regional competition at UiA, the judges are:
- Geir Bryn-Jensen, Country Manager for CA, Norway,
- Leif Methlie, former rector and now professor of Strategy and Information Management at NHH, and
- Atle Knudsen, director of Solvea, member of the Agder Energi Group.
The presentations are open, and will take place on Wednesday 18 November
at UiA Gimlemoen, in Auditorium JU-071 (Niels Henrik Abels hus) as follows:
- 10:30 Team 1 presentation
