"Performed or recorded: Popular Music between Performativity and Medialization". Susanne Binas-Preisendörfer, born in 1964, is Professor of Music and Media at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Germany.She studied musicology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and has worked as a scholar, musician and cultural politician.
Her research interests include "Popular Music and globalization", "World Music", "Music business and markets", "Audio-visual media and aesthetics", "Youth cultures and popular music", "Cultural policy" and "Gendermainstreaming in art and culture".
Susanne Binas-Preisendörfer is the author of "Erfolgreiche Künstlerinnen. Arbeiten zwischen Eigensinn und Kulturbetrieb" (2003) and "Klänge im Zeitalter ihrer medialen Verfügbarkeit. Popmusik auf globalen Märkten und in lokalen Kontexten" (2010)
