javaBin Sørlandet: The Synergy between Testability and Good Design

Ekstra-møte i javaBin Sørlandet førstkommende tirsdag 16. februar kl. 18:00 på UiA, Campus Kristiansand. Michael Feathers, et av de store navn i software-verdenen kommer på besøk. Michael Feathers er kjent som forfatter av boken "Working effectively with legacy code", utvikler av FitNesse og som kjent foredragsholder fra Object Mentor. Tirsdag 16. februar er han i Kristiansand og han vil da komme og holde en talk som har fått tittelen: The Synergy Between Testability and Good Design.

Often we encounter code that is difficult to test. We have a couple of options when we do. We can bemoan testing and feel that it is just an unusually difficult practice or we can reflect a bit on what makes code testable and recognize that testability and good design are not at odds, in fact they complement each other. In this talk, Michael Feathers will show a catalog of examples which show that there are design problems in nearly every imaginable example of difficult to test code. Further, he will explain why this is true and what the ramifications are for testing tools and design practice.
