This international MSc programme is designed for students who want to combine the study of modern communication systems with software engineering and development of software for open systems.
Communication and software engineering can be combined with specialisations within security or application development. Graduates will have substantial knowledge of industry relevant state-of-the-art technologies and scientific method, and they will have excellent prospects in a wide range of careers.
Global Recognition
UiA is a progressive university with a strong international focus and a research reputation within our special fields which is recognised globally. The university and cooperating industry partners in the region comprise one of the largest R&D environments within mobile communication in Norway. Most master thesis projects are based on current research problems from the industry. Very good students may become student researchers, and work in one of the faculty research groups.
Open to exchange students
UiA also takes in international students who wish to take one or two semesters instead of the entire 2-year-programme. By attending our programme for one or two semesters, exchange students will gain ECTS credits towards their degree at their home institution. Exchange students should feel free to select any of the courses from the master’s programme syllabus, provided they have the required background knowledge.

Admission requirements:
The Master's programme in ICT requires a completed BSc (minimum 180 ECTS credits) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or the equivalent.
