Eligibility for the program

General requirement: The applicants should hold a master/cand.polit. degree in political science, public administration, or equivalent disciplines. In addition, there is a requirement for at least one and a half years of study related to public administration and/or political science.

Compensatory coursework: Applicants with a master’s degree or equivalent, but who do not have sufficient knowledge in public administration/political science, will be requested to take additional courses at the master’s level before being formally accepted into the Programme. The Programme committee will decide, on an individual basis, which, and how many, additional courses at the master’s level will be required.

Grade requirement: Average of B (or equivalent) or better.

Application

Fellowships will be announced whenever there are openings. Applicants are asked to submit their application and CV online. To see if there are any fellowships announced at the moment: refer to vacant positions at the University of Agder: http://uia.easycruit.com/vacancy/279424/35073?iso=gb

Together with the application letter, applicants are required to send two complete sets (hard copies) of the following documentation in English:

  • Certified copies of diplomas and references
  • List of academic publications
  • Master’s thesis
  • Other academic publications
  • Project description (no more than 10 pages)

Selection Procedure

Each candidate is evaluated by a selection committee based on the documents provided. In addition, some candidates may be contacted by faculty members for an additional supporting telephone interview.

Once the selection committee has finalised the list of candidates accepted to the programme, applicants are contacted and informed about their application status.
