IT and Business Development

The research group on IT and business development focuses on how IT-based information systems may be used for improving business practice. This involves research topics such as business process modelling, e-business, IS evalution, knowledge management and communities of practice, e-collaboration, and adoption and diffusion of IT innovations. In particular, the group currently focuses on competence requirements for effective relationship management in IT-based inter-organizational networks.

Current projects

Examples of projects in which members of this research group are involved include:

  • e-Remote; analyzing distributed work environments in offshore and process industry to identify effective practices for remote operations and required competencies. Project owner: Sense Intellifield.
  • MOVE; developing mobile communication services for travellers on Norwegian tourist roads. Agder University College responsible for evaluation of services. Project owner: Telenor R&D.
  • NODE; analyzing competence requirements for managing interorganizational relations in networks of SMEs and larger companies. Project owner: NODE (Norwegian Offshore & Drilling Engineering).
