eCoLearn - English summary

eCollaborative Learning with(in) Norwegian industry is an ICT project funded by Norway Opening Universities (Norwegian name: Norgesuniversitetet).

Aker Solutions and the University of Agder are involved in the project that will run over a period of two years. 2009-2010.

The eCoLearn project develops and tests a course concept and set of tools for computer-supported collaborative learning to educate industrial employees and other students who are at work in parallel to their studies. The project is conducted by University of Agder and Aker Solutions. The aim is to enhance online participation in addition to the traditional eLearning in the context of a global distributed corporation and in connection to academic courses intended for students in work-life. The concept is first instantiated through developing a concrete course on eCollaboration, which itself utilizes a computer-supported learning platform, in the industry context. The learning platform includes an integrated set of tools such as shared content workspaces, document and desktop sharing technologies, discussion tools, audio- and video-conferencing, participant awareness, wikis, social bookmarking, social networking, and other appropriate eCollaboration tools. The lessons learned and the appropriate parts of the industrial eCollaborative learning concept will be adapted to appropriate university courses. The lessons learned will be gathered and published.

The project wiki is located at http://ecolearn.wikispaces.com/.
