English course for Academic Staff and PhD-Students

Are you completing your academic work in English, and/or are you considering defending your dissertation in English? This course will help you learn the words and expressions needed for this type of work, as course content focuses on promoting your communication skills through aiding your acquisition of more precise/advanced English in an academic environment.

Content:
1) Oral fluency training (seminar language, presenting findings and conclusions, handling questions and comments, etc.)
2) Presentation practice (papers, research, project proposals, etc.)
3) Written training (text construction, precision, linking, etc.)
4) Increasing vocabulary
5) Useful websites

Hours: 15 hours (five 3-hour sessions)

Place: Campus Gimlemoen, Room F 2 001

Day/Dates: Wednesday 21/9, 28/9, 12/10, 19/10, 26/10
