View on tourism on Lombok
When it comes to development and economic growth, most people in Lombok seem to hope that the number of tourists will increase. They now make an effort to build a new international airport in order to attract more foreign visitors. They also have built a lot of facilities for the tourists, but due to the economic crises in 1997 and following riots, the numbers of tourists have decreased. Because of this, the demand for tourism services is smaller than the capacity.
