The accommodation was in the house of the local Imam, Papa Trys, and his wife, Ibu Trys, and the mother of the Imam. The sub-village has 14 families/ houses, and these families are all farmers. The main crops are rice, beans and corn.
During our stay we found that the men we talked to, all had paid jobs beside of farming such as teacher or school guard. The Imam was also a farmer, and had a paid job beside his role as a religious leader. It is a 100% Muslim community, but the syncretism with Hindu is evident in the area, most visible by the importance of spiritualism. To do our interviews we used KKN students from Gadjah Mada University as interpreters. They were situated in the area to do their fieldwork for three months.
