Traditional houses and duties of Musalaki
1. Sao Ria
Three mosalaki live in this house and they have different duties and roles, such as:
- Laki PuuHas duty to be the Tokoh Adat (Adat Leader), maintain adat’s rice reservoir, involve in establishing the pillars of Rumah Adat, first one to planting in day one, providing water for fire fighting, etc.
- Laki Turu Tena Nata AeHis duty as to welcoming the guest, maintain the slicing wood and adat blade ranging program of adat ceremonial, etc.
- Laki Ruu Tuu Jaga tau RaraHis duty when there is a ceremonial of adat to be held and after it, this mosalaki will announce the existing rule of forbidden and other adat duties.
2. Sao Labo
This house lived by Mosalaka / Laki Puu. He has duty to bless the Tokoh Adat, digging and planting the pillars of rumah adat, providing water for fire fighting, etc.
3. Sao Meko
This house lived by Laki Koe Uwi. His duties are to pull out the cassava ( uwi) from ground, giving offerings on sacred place or Kanga, to choke the chicken neck for harvest forecasting, planting in day one, etc.
4. Sao Tua
This house lived by: Laki Dai Ulu Nua. His duties are to keep the entrance gate, planting in day one, stating forbidden regulations, etc.
5. Sao Ndoja
This house lived by: Laki Tunu Nasu. His duties are to cook the meat when adat ceremonials, distributing the meat, planting in day three, etc.
6. Sao Leke Bewa
This house lived by: Laki Ria Bewa. His duties are to be a judge of adat, planting on day two, etc.
7. Sao Ame Ndoka
This house lived by: Laki Ndeto Au. His duties are to take / lit the fire, distribute the raw meat, planting in day three, etc.
8. Sao Pemo Roja
This house lived by: Laki Pama Nggo Lamba. His duties are to maintain music instrument, planting in day three, etc.
9. Sao Gamba Jati
This house lived by: Laki Gao Lo Kaka Taga. His duties are to touch the adat’s rice , making sticky rice, planting in day three, etc.
10. Sao Wewa Mesa
This house lived by: Laki Dai Ulu Ae Enga Mau Nanga. His duties are to keep water and lake, taste the corn, planting in day three, etc.
11. Sao Bewa
This house lived by: Laki Ndeto Au. His duties are to deliver news or message, distribute meat to Sao Ria, planting in day two, etc.
12. Sao Watu Gana
This house lived by: Laki Bei Nggo Wangga Lamba. His duties are to carry music instrument, looking for prawn, measuring woods when making house ( Sao Ria).
13. Sao Embu Laka
This house lived by: Laki Ndeto Au. His duties are to keep the border line of village, planting in day two, play adat music, distribute raw meat, etc.
14. Sao Tana Tombu
This house lived by: Laki Tau Sani Laki.
15. Sao Mberi Dala
This house lived by: Laki Tau Sani Laki. His duties are to give betel nut and areca nut when there is adat dance or gawi to dancer and guest.
