The parish of Jerebu’u was established in 2002 and has a population of 7363.

Nearly 100% of them are Catholics and belong to the Ngadha ethnic group. The only non-Catholic might be government officials placed there for work, such as police officers.

The soil in Jerebu’u is volcanic and very fertile, and even if the prices are low at the moment, the most valuable agricultural product is vanilla. 80% of the population are farmers.
