Flores day-by-day

From January 18th to 25th we were divided into three groups. We lived with the local priests in different districts to practice some fieldwork.

January 25th

Group 1 and 2

Keli Mutu, Lisa

View Keli Mutu

Rise and shine at 05.00 am! Then, without breakfast, we headed for the top of the Keli Mutu volcano! The feeling of being at the top right in the middle of the three coloured lakes was kind of spiritual. Then we drove towards Nggela to reunite the whole group again!!

Flores, Gr.3 + Robertus 2501

Group 3
Today was the day to say goodbye to all our new friends in Nggela. After being served wine (originally meant for Communion) by the priest for breakfast, we dressed up in our sarongs and waited for the rest of the group to pick us up. During our stay, it has happened so much that it is hard to believe that we only have been here for four days. None of us will ever forget our visit in Nggela, Huamulu and Mondo.

Pragi

We left Nggela in our wonderful truck after lunch. We made a stop in the city of Ende, where the only thing to say is: man drinking from a puddle! The second and last stop, on this five hour journey, was at Pagi beach!

Kakerlakker

And we had a great swim, even though the waves were a little tuff on some of us... We arrived in Maumere at dawn. Our first evening in Maumere can be described with two words; rats and cockroaches!
