RESEARCH INTEREST:- Organic semiconductor devices; Hybrid solar cell; Dispersion science of nanoparticles in conducting polymers and photovoltaic systems.
Technical expertise The effect of dispersing the nanoparticles (CdTe, CdSe, CdTe-CdSe and TiO2) in the conjugated polymer (Polyaniline, MEH-PPV and P3HT) is investigated in terms of the optical and electronic properties of thin films deposited using spin coating technique. Optical measurements on thin films are done using Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Optical absorption study, Photoluminescence (PL). Surface morphological studies are carried out using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Atomic force microscopy (AFM). Cyclic-Voltammeteric measurements are carried out to study the elctro-chemical interaction and charge transfer between the polymer and nanoparticles. Dispersion properties of the blend solution are investigated with help of Dynamic light scattering (DLS) and 1HNMR measurement. DC sputtering technique is used for silver coating to prepare samples for SEM measurement. I-V measurement is done on the hybrid solar cells fabricated using spin coating and thermal evaporation technique for making contacts to hybrid solar cells.

We are working on Task 13, PVPS (Photovoltaic Power Systems) in association with IEA (International Energy Agency). There are 15 countries participating in Task 13 and we are representing Norway in this task 13. I am serving as a main contact person from University of Agder to IEA.
