The winner is... "Come to the school"!

The exchange student is thrilled to learn that he is the winner of the film contest.

"Are you serious?! You gotta be kidding! Thank you!"

There were two films that stood out in the competition, and the decision was quite hard to make. In the end Dion was announced the winner. The 27-year-old exchange student from South Carolina, USA is on a one-year exchange programme in music performance in Kristiansand.

Second place goes to the parkour performers Adrien Le Gall and Tormod Undheim, who are both literature, film and theatre students.

Dion shares the honor

"I didn't make the film alone, so I'd like to thank those who contributed!"

Dion tells us that he got the idea, wrote the song, created a storyboard, used one day recording the song in the music students' studio of the , and then put it all together into a film.

"The mormons just happened to be there that day, so that was a bit of improvisation", he laughs.

Dion is really an opera singer, and is doing his master's degree in classical music performance.

"But in my spare time I sometimes sing soul and r&b with students from rythmic, for example at the jam at Charlies."

Earlier this year he performed in Kristiansand Cathedral with other music students. His dream to sing opera in one of the famous opera houses, such as La Scala in Italy or Covent Garden in London.

"But the biggest dream is to sing Wagner in Bayreuth in Germany."

Dion tells us that he enjoys staying in Kristiansand and at UiA.

"They say that Norwegians are reserved, but it don't feel that. You might sometimes have to be the one taking the initiative to say "hi!", but then it all works out fine. I'm not so shy!"
