Cooperation
Cooperation with community and industry
The University's Strategic Plan for 2009-2015 states that the University of Agder aims to be a model for how an educational and research institution can be an active regional partner. UiA’s regional partners include research institutes, businesses, the public sector as well as science parks and business gardens. UiA cooperates extensively with two commercial networks in the region: NODE (Norwegian Offshore Drilling & Engineering), which received the Norwegian Center of Expertise (NCE) status in 2009, and the EYDE Network, a network of process manufacturing companies in the region.

International research cooperation and the EU
The University’s Strategic Plan for 2009-2015 also states that the University of Agder should have a strong international component. International research cooperation can range from informal cooperation between individual researchers to bilateral agreements and strategic cooperation with specific institutions or countries. UiA is active in cooperation projects within the EU framework programme and follows the development of the European Research Associates (ERA).
