Complete descriptions of all study programmes and courses can be found in the ECTS Course Catalogue to the left. For practical purposes all study programmes from semester programmes to Ph. D. programmes are referred to in the Course Catalogue as study programmes.

Courses refer to the individual "modules" or "subjects" which make up the study programmes or are offered as free-standing courses.

A semester is normally 30 ECTS credits/"studiepoeng", and an academic year 60 ECTS credits.

For most study programmes, the language of instruction is Norwegian, but a number of master degree programmes are also offered in English. More than 50 courses in various subjects are offered in English, primarily for exchange students from partner institutions.
