Higher Education Entrance Qualification.
The programme aims to give practical skills and
reflection about didactics and aesthethics in working with the
media and IT.
During the autumn semester students will
be given basic skills and theoretical insight into media and
communication technology. In the spring term students will also
undertake working on projects and creative production
assignments. The programme will also give students an
introduction to research and development work in the
field.
KOM108 may be included as a component of a
specialisation in the Bachelor´s Degree Programme in
Communication (subject to availability).

The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.
After having completed the programme, students
should
- have an understanding about how different
media work and how to use them in different learning and
communication situations
- have insight into important
areas within the media´s development in society
- have
practical skills in the use of media-related and digital
tools
- be able to complete a project in communication
from an early stage to a final media product
- have an
understanding of current research and development work in the
field
Each semester includes various teaching methods. In the autumn semester the programme is organised as three courses that may be taken independently of one another. In the spring semester students work with thematic units. Methods of study and teaching include a combination of lectures, group work, project work and creative production assignments.
Project work, short-answer tests, group examinations and individual at-home examinations, oral examinations and individual portfolios.
It is a relevant study programme not only for future teachers, but also for other professions, for instance within information technology and public relations. It may be included as a fourth year of study in the general teacher education programme, and may also be included as a component within several other Bachelor programmes offered at the University of Agder as well as in a self-designed Bachelor degree programme.
