The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.
On successful completion of the programme
students will:
- aquire an understanding of how to
work plurydisciplinary on a theme in the field of design and
technology.
- see the theme in the perspective of
architecture an construction.
- see the theme in the
perspective of principles of energi and movement.
- be
able to account for the relevant factors in a design process.
- through practical experiences as well as
theoretical knowledge on design processes and relevant
didactics, aquire teaching competance on pluridisciplinary
projects of design and technology.
The
students should plan and carry out their own design processes,
analyzing the relationship between form and function, use of
materials, choise of tools and methods of production. The
students should also explain their choices as to design as well
as
technology.
Part time study programme over two semesters (30
ECTS). One day-time class a week, otherwise afternoons or
evenings.
There may be up to two weekend assemblies
each semester.
Various teaching methods such as
lectures, laboratory work and work in specialized rooms.The
students will be testing different materials and do
mathematical calculations.

This programme qualifies for work with arts and crafts and interdisciplinary work in design and technology in Primary and Secondary School.
The students will have to pay a fee for material
expenses and also cover their own expenses for the individual
project the second semester. Trips and excusrsions are also
paid for by the students.
