TFL103-1 Interdisciplinary Art

Bachelor's Programme in Pre-school Education

Norwegian.

Target areas for art in pre-school teacher education are based on the five areas of competence. Academic, social and didactical competence in particular are emphasized. In the course, these three areas of competence will mutually enrich and stimulate each other.
Upon completion of the course, the student will: .
- have an understanding of art's character
- gain experience with creative processes and academic challenges through his own practical work
- understand how play and exploration are central in creative activity with children
- have experience with facilitating play and creative activity for and with children
- have experience with how art subjects can be integrated in multi-disciplinary theme work
- have knowledge of leadership and organization of artistic activities .

Students will receive knowledge of and experience in the subjects of Drama, Arts and Crafts and Music. Through working with these subjects, students will be able to work independently on creative activities. Students will also acquire knowledge of how complete interdisciplinary work.

The course is comprised of lectures, group seminars, practical work and individual work.

- Practical group presentation in one of the subjects.
