After the course you should have updated knowledge about the European Union´s

  • Political agenda
  • Political processes and institutional development
  • Conflicting interests and future challenges

This course gives students an understanding of the most important current issues in the political development of Europe in general and the European Union in particular. Topics vary from year to year according to the political agenda of the EU, but topics like enlargement, health and social policies of the EU and its member states, monetary union, regional policies and controversies over the Constitutional Treaty have been taught before.

Lectures and seminars/discussion sections.

Approved paper of maximum 1200 words (passed/not passed).

6-hours written exam with graded assessment.
