SE-104 Introduction to Economic Thought and Ethics or equivalent
Upon completion of this course the student should know central macroeconomic concepts and be able to analyse macroeconomic problems, particularly be able to analyse the effects on production and employment as a result of changes in monetary and fiscal policies or demand shocks towards goods and services produced in Norway.
Topics include:
- National accounts
- Other macro data sources
- Factors that incfluence a nation's wealth and growth in the long run
- The business cycle
- Production and income in the short run
- Analysis of changes in demand (Keynes' model)
- IS-LM model and the Fleming-Mundell model with fixed and floating exchange rates.
Lectures and group work, 4 hours per week
Approved mandatory assignments. Information about this will be given in Fronter at the start of the semester.
