MU-301-1 In-depth Studies: Music Performance

On successful completions of this course, the students should be able to:

- perform and present music on an advanced level

- master various techniques on their main instrument

- develop creative and independent working methods

- understand the aesthetic qualities of the music

- interpret repertoire, both for solo instument and for ensembles

The students will:

- develop their personal and artistic skills

- play different music styles

- interpret repertoire, both for solo instument and for ensembles

- music performance

The course makes use of individual lessons and group seminars.

Compulsory attendance.

- Compulsory attendance, assessed as passed.

Classical students:

- Concert of approximately 30 - 35 minutes, of which 10 minutes might be chamber music.

Other students:

- A technical test of rehearsal, sight-reading, imitation, improvisation and accompaniment.

- A concert of approximately 60 minutes. The final assesment will be made from the general imoression of the two parts of the exam.

Assessed on the basis A-F (A as the highest mark and F as fail.).
