Upon completion of this course the students should be able to:

  • Understand basic methodology
  • Plan and implement an empirical survey
  • Evaluate the quality of implemented surveys

The course provides a basic introduction to planning and implementation of empiric investigations.

Topics include:

  • Methodology views and approaches
  • Stages in a research process
  • Meaning of theory in empirical studies
  • Validity and reliability
  • Ethical issues when carrying out investigations
  • Qualitative and quantitative methods

Lectures and project work.

Approved mandatory assignment

3-hour written examination with graded marks
