The aim of the study is to give students basic knowledge in:- The human physiology in relation to physical activity- The importance of physical activity in an individual and public health perspective

Physiology

  • Basis of cell physiology and biochemistry
  • Circulation system
  • Respiratory system
  • Metabolism
  • Temperature regulation
  • Fluid balance
  • Endocrine system

Health

  • Pathology
  • Physical activity and public health
  • Diet and nutrition
  • First-aid
  • Sports injuries

Teaching will be given as lectures, practical work, demonstrations and group work. Parts of it may be compulsory - please see the course brochure.

The course will have two exams and both must be passed.

  • Part A counts 50% and is a graded 3-hour written individual exam which is arranged mid term
  • Part B counts 50% and is a graded 3-hour written individual exam which is arranged at the end of term

The course will be given one final mark.
