DR-103-G Drama in Early Childhood Education

Bachelor's Programme in Pre-school Education

Norwegian.

On successful completion of this course, the students should be able to:
- use drama as an expression and as communication
- have knowledge of drama and theatre as fine art
- develop childrens own dramatic and creative play
- stimulate and present drama activities as a natural part of the kindergarten

The course will enable the students to use drama as a type of expression and communication. They will also acquire knowledge of the childrens dramatic games and activities.

Course contents:

- Basic voice training and movement training

- Story telling and puppetry

- Drama teaching and theory

The course makes use of lectures, group seminars and practical work. Integrated theoretical and practical work.

Compulsory attendance.

- Compulsory assignments

- Teaching practice, assessed as passed

- 4 hours written exam.

- Practical exam (for 1/3 of the students).

Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).

Practical and theoretical.

First cycle.

Third year of bachelor`s programme.
