The programme gives a general background in social studies that can be used in several professions, such as various jobs in voluntary organisations, public relations, journalism and public administration. The one-year programme may also be part of a self-chosen Bachelor's degree. And, it may constitute a part of a teacher education programme at Agder University College (AUC) provided that education students take SV-108 Methods in Social Studies.
