Natural Sciences 1, minimum 20 credits must be passed.

The Half-Year Programme in Natural Sciences 2 encompasses three interconnected fields: subject knowledge and didactic knowledge being a natural sciences teacher cooperation and reflection Through their work in these fields, the students shall acquire theoretical and practical competences in the natural sciences in order to become good natural sciences teachers who are able to bring the subject alive, and hopefully support interest and enthusiasm for the subject among the pupils. The students shall be able to assess and renew their own teaching in cooperation with other stakeholders in the school system. The structure of the study programme is described below, with a table showing the structure of the study plan. In the table, some of the course names have been abbreviated, or are only given as a course code. For more information, please see the description of each individual course.

The Examination Regulations of the University of Agder regulate the graduation requirements for each programme of study.

Studieplanramme

Students shall be able to discuss and teach central concepts and subject matter in the natural sciences, particularly aimed at lower secondary school and the first year of upper secondary school plan and manage different teaching methods in the natural sciences, and assess their own teaching in light of didactic knowledge

There will be final examinations in all courses. Please see separate course descriptions for more information. The programme includes compulsory work such as assignments and project work. Practical training is compulsory for students in the third year of the teacher education programme.

Completion of the programme provides graduates with the academic basis necessary for teaching natural sciences in the primary and secondary school.
