Higher Education Entrance Qualification
The first semester will give basic insight into theory and training by analytical work with narrative and dramaturgy in different forms of expression. Students will also be introduced to foreign and Norwegian texts from global popular culture, and they will for the first time be given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in creative project work. During the second semester students will develop a major work in which different forms of expression will be used. The programme may be a part of the specialisation in the Bachelor´s degree programme in Communisation, Norwegian and Media, Language and Culture and Fine Arts and in the optional part of General Teacher Education provided that students carry out a didactic project through the course LIT107. The programme is also suitable as continuing education for teachers.
Having completed the programme the students will - be able to combine creative work with literature, film and theatre, including analytical and theoretical reflection. - be able to work with narration, dramaturgy, themes and genres with different forms of expression, practicing their learning by creating their own expressions and by interpreting the expressions of others - have an insight in the interplay between theoretical knowledge and practical work and have a basis for working creatively with projects that attempt to give textual, film and scenic expression to narratives - be able to demonstrate that they are able to work comparatively and cross-genre with literature, film and theatre, discuss similarities and differences in form and content, and develop this insight in their creative work.
Lectures, seminars with student presentations and supervised projects. During spring semester students may spend one semester at a university with which the University of Agder has an agreement.
Forms of assessment vary and are described in the course description.
The study programme aims to prepare students for jobs in the educational or cultural sectors.
