University admission certification/completion of general upper-secondary education.

Students must be prepared for some courses being taught in English.

Students will acquire a basic understanding and knowledge of how ICT and information systems can be developed, applied and utilised in organisations. The students will learn to see the potential of IT support and contribute to the realisation of this potential through participation in implementation projects

The candidate will be able to understand the possibilities of ICT, and contribute to realizing these through participation in development projects.

A variety of different teaching methods are used: lectures, seminars, group work, group exercises and individual computer lab work. There will also be assignments (individual or in groups). Normally, approved mandatory assignments and/or project reports are required before taking the examination.

Student exchange is not feasible in one-year programmes.

The programme qualifies for further studies in the three-year Bachelor's Degree Programme in IT and Information Systems at the University of Agder, Kristiansand. The programme may be combined with other programmes. It may also be included as a 60-credit component in a self-composed Bachelor's degree.

The One-Year Basic Programme in IT and Information Systems is based on courses from the three-year Bachelor's Degree Programme in IT and Information Systems at University of Agder. Students who continue at the bachelor's degree programme, will get their previous courses accepted as part of the bachelor programme.
