Higher Education Entrance Qualification or Prior learning and work experience
Experience as an instructor or trainer, and/or experience from fitness training. It is advisable that students are in normal good physical condition at the start of the course and they must be able to actively participate in practical lessons.
Faculty of Health and Sport is focusing public health work with the aim to strengthen the elements contributing to a better health. The study programme in health and fitness emphasises knowledge and skills in physical activity in order to promote goals related to health and fitness. Due to an increased number of people training in fitness centres over the last years, the activities and facilities must be developed and adjusted to their needs and wishes. The continuous development in the fitness trade therefore requires education for instructors and trainers which will give them sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to instruct and coach the active.
Arrangements for the recognition of prior learning are described in the information on the institution under "General arrangements for the recognition of prior learning (formal, informal and non-formal)".
For a description of the examination regulations, see the Examination Regulations of the University of Agder.
