Higher Education Entrance Qualification
Language skills equivalent to level 2 in upper secondary school (general studies branch) are recommended. A language course or a stay in France is also recommended.
This is a two-semester programme, autumn and spring, and it includes a 5-week stay in Caen, France, in January/February. The programme contains 4 courses of 15 ECTS credits each. The stay in France in January/February and the related projectwork, are included in the course FR-117-1 French Usage.
Upon completion of the course the students will have - trained their oral and written language proficiency - acquired knowledge of French literature from various epochs and genres - knowledge of French social, political, historical, cultural and geographical conditions - acquired basic theoretical and practical knowledge of French grammar and phonology
Instruction is given in the form of lectures and seminars.

In combination with the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PPU) the programme qualifies for teaching on lower and upper secondary school levels and may also be a useful background for a broad spectre of professions in which knowledge of France and French language is an important qualification. The programme qualifies for further studies in French fo examle at Master level. The course can be included as the fourth year in the general teacher training programme.
Unspecified Bachelor's Degree: The following courses may constitute a minor subject of 40 ECTS credits in French: FR-112 French Literature (15 ECTS credits) FR-113 French Civilization (15 ECTS credits) FR-118 French Language (15 ECTS credits)
