Approved obligatory component of pre-school teacher education study programme. The study programme may also be taken as continuing education for qualified pre-school teachers.
This advanced-level programme is directed towards educational work with the youngest children in the daycare centre (0- 3 years). The study programme emphasises the connection between instruction, practice in daycare centres as well as research and development work. A total of 120 hours of practice in a daycare centre is included in the programme.
After having completed this study programme, students will have acquired the following: - the professional, didactic and ethical competence necessary to undertake educational work with children under three years of age - the competence necessary to undertake educational developmental work in a daycare centre and provide the required documentation thereof
Working forms include lectures, discussions, working in practice groups, independent work, developmental work and counselling. Analysis of practice narratives from the field will be used as an instructional strategy in education, assignments, project and developmental work in order to among other things strengthen the connection between theory and practice. Students will have the didactic responsibility for completing developmental work in cooperation with daycare centre staff members.
Portfolio assessment (individual) and project report (group)
The study programme is one component of the pre-school teacher education programme and qualifies graduates for pre-school work, especially in groups of very young children.
