Upon completion of this course the students should have acquired elementary knowledge about the characteristics of economic thought, what ethics is and the relations between the two. Business ethics and corporate social responsibility are emphasised. Group work will train the students in analysing current issues and to assess these issues ethically. The students will also learn the use and necessity of references in written reports and will be tested in this through hand-ins

The development in economic thought up until the present will be examined, leading to the field of business ethics, illustrated by current cases from the news media. The concept of ethics will be more closely discussed, especially in relation to economic thought and practice. Ethical aspects in the use of research results and other sources will also be covered.

2 hours of lectures and 2 hours of group work each week

2 approved mandatory assignments, solved in groups.

4-hour written examination with graded marks
