SE-104-G Introduction to Economic Thought and Ethics

Upon completion of this course the students should have acquired elementary knowledge about the characteristics of economic thought, what ethics is and the relations between the two. Business ethics and corporate social responsibility are emphasised. Group work will train the students in analysing current issues and to assess these issues ethically. The students will also learn the use and necessity of references in written reports and will be tested in this through hand-ins

The aim is to provide an elementary introduction to economic thought with an ethical perspective. Major emphasis is placed on understanding what economic thought actually is, and that it is about choosing between different alternatives with limited resources, and that each choice has an ethical dimension.

2 hours lectures ond 2 hours with group work per week.

2 approved compulsory assignment.

4-hours written examination.
