Professional-ethic competence: - Shows respect for pupils, parents and staff Social competence: - Is able to teach in cooperation with others - Can see each pupil´s needs - Shows consideration for pupils with different conditions Professional competence: - Has knowledge about pupils with special needs - Has knowledge of the school laws and teaching plans and curriculum plans - Knows the school´s routines for cooperation and following up on pupils Didactic competence: - Can plan and carry out a specific special need task related to a single pupil of group of pupils - Can evaluate is/her own and others´ special need activity Change and development competence: - Can discuss education of pupils with special needs - Can take into consideration practical consequences of school laws and curriculum plans

- Observe and evaluate special needs activity - Special need teaching and evaluation of own activity - Participating at parents´ meetings and in meetings with the school´s cooperative bodies - Routines and following up of pupils with special needs

- Teamwork - Individual preparation - Planning, carrying out and evaluation of teaching special needs

After completed practice the tutor writes an individual written evaluation graded Pass/Fail. The grade is given on the basis of the tutor´s evaluation of the student´s learning outcome of the five competence areas.
