On completion of the course the students shall be able to identify common plants and animals and explain the interplay between lining organisms and their environment have knowledge of basic physics and everyday technology, and solar and lunar influences on the earth be able to recount and explain myths and stories connected to animals and plants have knowledge of child health and child health preventive measures be able to assess and prepare stimulating outdoor and indoor facilities that are conducive to the children´s knowledge, joy of exploration, curiosity, sensory abilities and conceptual development.

Field work and outdoor activities constitute half of the teaching and is mandatory, the rest is either lectures or individual supervision. The interdisciplinary project, and a field session prepared and guided by the students, both as group work, are mandatory. A specimen collection is presented individually and is evaluated and given differentiated marks. Obligatory practice period in kindergarten school is part of the course.

Approved project, practice period and students field session. Mandatory course participation in field and lab work.

Differentiated marks partly based on the evaluated results of the specimen collection and partly on a 2 hour written examination. Both parts count equal.
