MU-132-1 Music Didactics and Practice Subjects

Bachelor's Programme in Fine Arts - Specialisation in Music , Music, 1-year Programme ,

Autumn

Norwegian.

Upon completion of the course, the student will: - be able to document knowledge of fundamental theories of children and adolescents' musical development and learning - be able to document insight in aesthetics with emphasis on musical experience - document knowledge of school curricula - be able to show familiarity with the practical placement arenas of school, culture school and relevant institutions in the health sector - be able to plan and execute his own practical placement using didactical theory as a basis - be able to apply varied teaching methods and be able to lead music activities in schools, culture schools and institutions - master a broad and varied musical repertoire for different age and user groups - have executed two practical placement projects with a focus on teaching and communicating in a school, institution, culture school, or another arena - have participated in planning, practicing and executing a larger dissemination project - be able to use dance and movement as a part of music dissemination and music educational activity.

Course contents: - Music Pedagogics - Music Didactics - Music Sociology - Scientific Theory - Teaching practice (approximately 10 days per semester)

The course makes use of lectures, group seminars, individual work and practice. Compulsory attendance in teaching practice.

- Teaching practice, assessed as passed - Compulsory attendance, assessed as passed - Compulsory semester assignment, assessed as passed

- Individual oral examination (Constitutes 60% of the mark). - Practical exam in groups with individual assessment (Constitutes 40% of the mark). Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
