MA-116-1 Statistics Applied in Business Adminstration

After the course the students should be able to present and interpret descriptive statistics understand ethical problems when working with experiments understand important basic concepts in probability and statistics use statistical methods including testing and estimation in one and two samples with use of normal distribution and t-distribution, correlation and some analysis of categorized data and simple regression analysis.
The course gives a foundation in probability and statistics with important statistical basic concepts as independence and conditional probability. It will be presented an introduction to statistical thinking, and ethical problems when working with experiments will be discussed. Different statistical distributions and statistical methods will be presented. An introduction in use of some software for data analysis will be given.
Lectures and group work.
All compulsory assignments must have obtained a Pass
A 4-hour written examination. Differentiated grades.
