KR-118-D1 The History of Christianity, Religious Studies and Didactics (KRL 1)

The students will have - learned about the history of Christianity with emphasis on the epochs found in the elementary school curriculum for religion - learned about the history, teachings, religious practice, societal significance and view of gender equality within the following religions and orientations: Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, secularism, Jehovah's witnesses and other traditions of belief - be able to discuss challenges in relation to pupils from different traditions of belief - have didactical competence and an ability to reflect.
The course covers 10 of the 20 compulsory ECTS credits in RLE in the Teacher Education and prepares for teaching RLE in primary and lower secondary school. The course builds upon the national curriculum's three target areas: academic and didactic skills, being a religion teacher and working together and reflection. The course covers the following academic areas: religious studies in a social context with education, ethics, philosophy, religious science and religious dialogue.
Teaching methods comprise lectures and work seminars. The contents are closely related to the teaching practice period and project work.
Students must have participated in all obligatory teaching and obligatory assignments according to the plan provided at the beginning of the semester must be assessed as a Pass. The practice period must be assessed as a Pass.
6-hour written examination. Graded assessment.
