KR-110-D1 Religious Instruction and Ethics in Pre-School

Students shall - have acquired knowledge of Christianity as a source of faith and culture, Christian diversity in Norway, church holidays and feasts in pre-school and Bible stories for children - have acquired knowledge about some religions and philosophies of life, among others Islam, Budhism, Jehova´s Witnesses and humanism as a philosophy of life - have acquired knowledge of basic ethical questions, children´s ethical socialisation and child related ethics including children in crisis and challenges related to gender and equal opportunities - have acquired professional ethical competence - be able to prepare annual teaching plans for the discipline Religion, Ethics and Philosophy - have acquired methodical conscience of the communication of values, religion and ethics in pre-school
The course is based on the three target areas of the National Curriculum: Professional knowledge, Pedagogical work with children and Interaction and reflection. The course covers three subject areas: Christian faith and tradition, Religious studies and Ethics.
The course is given as lectures and work seminars. The contents are closely related to the teaching practice period and project work.
The teaching practice must be assessed as a Pass. Semester assignment.
5-hour written exam. Graded assessment.
