KH-114-2 Arts and Crafts 2 - Theory

Bachelor's Programme in Fine Arts - Specialisation in Arts and Crafts , Arts and Crafts, 1-year Programme

Norwegian.

KH-121 and KH-113 or 30 ECTS in Arts and crafts.

On successful completion of the course, the student will: - be familiar with the term "art" and art's place in society and the school - be able to use image analysis to learn about the image's structure and content - have attained knowledge of art's intrinsic value and value as a source of inspiration for his own work - have basic knowledge of European art history and the main points in Norwegian art history, with emphasis on the last 200 years - be able to use Norwegian arts and crafts skills and design in his own creative work - be able to present basic features in architectural history, as well as local architecture and building traditions - be able to debate the function of art and the culture of form.

The students will receive knowledge of the expressions of art. They will also acquire knowledge of architecture and norwegian craft and design. Course contents: - Art ideas - Picture analysis - European Arts history - Architecture - Norwegian craft and design

The course makes use of lectures.

- Compulsory assignments - Teaching practice, assessed as passed

- 5 hour written exam. Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
