KH-113-2 Arts and Crafts 1 - Theory

Bachelor's Programme in Fine Arts - Specialisation in Arts and Crafts , Arts and Crafts, 1-year Programme

Norwegian.

On successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: - apply didactical theories to his own teaching - defend the subject's character and historical development in order to take part in the further development of the subject - understand and explain academic terms connected to aesthetics, art and creative work and be able to use them in reflection upon his own work - understand and explain how processes of perception and visual phenomena are significant to practical work in the subject of arts and crafts - debate didactical issues based on relevant theories connected to creative work, creativity and child development in work with two and three dimensional materials - defend various modes of assessment in arts and crafts.

The students will acquire knowledge of arts and crafts as a subject in school. The course will also enable the students to guide children in their work with arts and crafts. Course contents: - Current curriculums - Children´s development in two- and three dimensional expressions - Aesthetic - Documentation and evaluation in arts and crafts

The course makes use of lectures.

- Compulsory assignments - Teaching practice, assessed as passed

- 5-hours written exam Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest level and F as fail).
