Master's Programme in Industrial and Information Management
Autumn
Norwegian and English. Lectures are in Norwegian. Textbooks are in English, and international students are offered special tuition in English.
After completing the course, the student is expected to: understand some of the challenges in building and developing effective team be better able to prevent and handle conflicts in teams and organisations be aware of how ones thoughts, feelings and behaviour influence the manager and team role have knowledge about how internal communication and motivation act on the work performance in teams know about problem solving methods for handling complex situations that can be solved in team be more aware of ethical aspects in leadership and team work
The course provides knowledge and experience in the following areas: Team development. Communication and motivation. Conflicts and handling of conflicts. Roles. Development of employees and coaching. The role of a manger and ethical challenges. Recruiting and selection of employees.
Lessons that are carried out over an entire work day comprise lectures, exercises and experiences using the student's personal skills. Compulsory participation in minimum 80 % of the lessons.
Compulsory participation in minimum 80 % of the lessons must be approved.
Group work with oral presentation (50 % contribution to final assessment) and individual compulsory exercises (50 % contribution to final assessment). Graded assessment.
