IN-602-1 Research Issues in Ethichs in Multinational Organizations
International Management, PhD Programme
Spring
English.
The course extends issues covered in IN-600 Core Course 1: Theoretical Foundation for International Management
At the completion of the course, students should: Be brought to the forefront in several areas of research in strategy Be able to identify future research topics within these areas
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to some current research frontiers in international management and strategy. Instead of aiming at providing broad overviews of research traditions and perspectives, the course focuses on a few specific areas of research. Topics will be selected on the basis of novelty (cutting-edge research), importance (key issues), and the research interests of course faculty members and participants. Course content:* The roles of subsidiaries in complex multinational enterprises Dynamics of foreign operations * Since this course deals with current research, the precise course contents cannot be announced well in advance. The course contents will necessarily be subject to change and consecutive courses may therefore have relatively little in common. A course will typically cover 3-4 specific topics, providing the background, sketching out the key research issues, and covering the core studies on the topic.
Students will be assessed based on a theoretical or empirical term paper of approximately 20-30 pages. Pass/fail assessment.
Face-to-face
The syllabus will be published on the home page of the course when finalised. See link in the upper right hand corner of the page.
