After having completed the course, the student will: have obtained knowledge and understanding of technology assessment and implementation of information technology in the health and social sector through working with his/her own project have an insight into basic scientific approaches have an insight into and be able to apply and discuss scientific research methods with focus on qualitative methods and evaluation research in problem oriented projects have developed an insight into and understanding of how information - and communication technology may be applied in one specific area within the health - and social sector and knowledge about the interaction between the information system and the user be able to design and carry out a problem oriented research project in a concrete problem area based on statistical criteria recognize and be able to use basic tools related to project work be able to evaluate the work climate of a group involved in project work
An introduction to scientific approaches and methods with focus on qualitative methods and evaluation research in health and social informatics. The project theme must be chosen from a concrete area within the health- and social sector. A concrete proposition of a real and documentable problem is presented. The proposition may in principle contain both technical, organisational, and communicative aspects. One can choose to focus on one of the aspects. The student must develop and make use of a project plan, a quality plan, a group contract, and other relevant tools.
Net-based study programme, including two week-long seminars. Four seminars of which three are compulsory. Individual supervision (two lessons compulsory).
Participation in compulsory supervision. Documented attendance in 3 of 4 seminars with presentation of preliminary project work in template format For more information please see the course brochure
